As you may recall, we were expecting to have attended an ENDC Planning meeting on January 7th 2015, where we all hoped to hear the words 'rejected' with respect to the proposal by Gladman to build 230 properties on the outskirts of the village, north of West Street. That date came and went so we looked into the reasons for the delay.
Two new letters, dated 17th December from the North Northants Joint Planning Unit and NCC Highways and Transportation had been lodged, both saying exactly what we all fear would happen if this development were to go ahead. That was positive.
On the other hand, we noted a letter to the ENDC from Savills on behalf of Gladman, dated 19th December disputing allocation figues for housing and following those three communications, ENDC agreed a delayed decision date of 29th January, which has also now been deferred further to 18th of February.
We can't say we are very happy that we did what we were instructed to do within the timeframe allowed for our consultaions while Gladman failed to do that and were given extensions. That seems unbalanced so we now rely upon the common sense of ENDC to still say no on our behalf and hope it has cost Gladman in time and money to delay this process.
Stay tuned... more as it happens.....
